Another exquisite experience at my local post office yesterday. Mind you, my city's post office is not a country bumpkin little brick building. It's a monstrosity the size of a large urban high school campus. And this is the reason I question why only one window (out of five available) is ever open for paying customers to pick up their mail or drop off packages, etc. to be weighed and sent. But one solitary postal clerk is all that's ever working at this proud branch of our USPS. When I arrived with my brown envelope to be mailed, there were a dozen or so folks in front of me waiting in line. And as the line quickly grew behind me, the people in front of me became more and more disgruntled. Overheard were, "I've been here 25 minutes," and "It's always like this!" At one point, an elderly gentleman got out of the line, walked up to the window and began venting his frustrations, in a very loud voice. I prepared myself to duck and cover, just in case. Fortunately, he left after releasing his anger to the lone postal worker, and I felt lucky that there was one less person in front of me.
As I pondered my situation, a thought occurred to me..............do we need another agency run by our federal government? The thought of what they'd do with universal health care makes me shudder.
