Be forewarned: This is a rant!
Between the three cell phones in our house, we've received 18 spam text messages this week alone. At 20 cents a pop + tax, this is becoming a costly annoyance. I called our cell phone carrier to complain (yes, I will name names.........Sprint!) and was told by the perky little representative that it's "not Sprint's fault that you are receiving spam on your cell phone." HUH? I cut her off and asked to speak to a supervisor. I got put on hold and would you believe after 20 minutes of waiting, my phone battery died and I had to hang up. You could say I'm fuming, but I had to leave for an appointment, so I'm putting this problem on hold. Obviously, I could block all text messages, but there are times of emergency when it's nice to have. I just don't understand why spam can't be filtered since it's not even coming from phone numbers, but from e-mail addresses. If anyone out there has dealt with this problem successfully, please let me know!
