Super Trampin'

It happened again yesterday in the car. I was possessed to stop changing stations when I heard these lyrics, "Take a look at my girlfriendShe's the only one I got (ba ba da da)Not much of a girlfriendI never seem to get a lot (ba ba da da, ba ba da da)." No, this isn't a Supertramp song - it's the Gym Class Heroes singing "Cupid's Chokehold."

I genuinely believe that the music moguls are sitting around their conference tables with these rap/punk artists saying, "what white music from the 70's can we steal some lyrics and riffs from in order to catch the attention of the over 40 white suburban crowd?" This brainchild began when Aerosmith teamed up with Run-DMC on a new version of their ever popular, "Walk This Way." And it's been happening ever since.

I give these guys credit.............it makes me stop and listen to the song everytime, and I notice my husband doing the same. How sad is it that we are craving Supertramp after 30 years of forgetting them?
