    Sleeping Bear Dunes; Northwest Lower Peninsula of Michigan. We've got a nearly-identical photo in our archives. . .

    Oh, faDKoG, you were thinking of Mackinac Island, weren't you? Not too far away - maybe an hour-and-a-half drive. But no - there are no dunes like this on Mackinac Island. . .

    Are those the dunes in Michigan? I went to some sand dunes like that when I visited there amny years ago.

    This looks like the dunes in Central California. Near Pismo Beach, just north of Santa Barbara. Or Egypt....
