After years of battling the deer, I finally managed to outsmart them.....well, me and an $18 bottle of Deer Off spray. Not one bud was eaten off my Stargazer lilies this year. Normally, we only manage to get two or three blossoms to bloom before some family of deer discover them and eat all the buds.
I'll be back to my bloggy self once all the kids have left the building. Enjoy these last couple of weeks of summer.

Deer only take the good stuff in the garden like those jerks at the buffet that never take salad or fried rice, but take all the egg rolls and pluck all the scallops and shrimp leaving nothing for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! If you'd like to send me a bouquet, I'm home during the days for the next week or so before my shift at the store changes, so I'd be here when the delivery man showed up!
ReplyDeleteyay! they look gorgeous. glad you found a solution.
ReplyDeleteA farmer friend of mine refers to deer as 'antlered rats'. . .

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of "Deer Off", lol ... makes me think of bug spray for deer. ;)
The deer haven't bothered my lilies, bt it may be because they are by the house and the deer don't veture far from the woods.
