I purchased this lovely drying rack from Honey-Can-Do through Amazon. I got tired of the wooden ones that kept breaking or collapsing. Unfortunately, when the box arrived yesterday, it was unassembled. There were assembly instructions for those who have no idea how to insert metal rods into rubber slots. It took me about 5 minutes total to get the thing up and ready for some wet clothes. I guess Honey Can Do it!
However, I decided to look over the instructions, and noted the following warning:
Please do not allow children, spouses or pets to hang from or hide in
drying rack.
I made certain to read that warning to my spouse. You never know when he might decide to take a whirl on the ole drying rack!
Well, you know, REALLY small children or pets might be able to roost on such a contraption without having it just fold up and collapse underneath them. But - spouses?!? They actually called out spouses?

Sorta makes you wonder what somebody might've done, to move them to write the warning as they did. . .

This reminds me of those warnings on plastic bags that say something like, This is NOT a toy. Keep away from childern.
Now I know they can be dangerous to have around children, but WHY do they have to tell you that it is NOT a toy!?!?

ReplyDeleteRon - Well, there are some really dumb parents out there.....I've seen parents give their toddlers their actual key ring to play with (re: put into mouth) to shut them up.

Russ - I suppose you could pull the thing over if it's covered in clothes and hide underneath it somehow. Might be obvious though!
