Transitions

I haven't blogged about what's been going on in my real life in quite a while.  College Daughter is a senior this year.  Middle Child started community college and I'm driving her back and forth every day.  Only Son is now a junior in high school and we are back to college visits.  Life is full and ever-changing.......

Due to a variety of circumstances, we've decided to move.  Our kids don't know yet.  We are waiting until some things get finalized.  We've been in this house (our first and only one) for 21 years.  Husband and I are both sad about it, but it's time to move on.  Hopefully, it won't take nine months to sell, but we shall see.

I wanted to let my Blogger friends know that I won't be blogging much until life settles down again.  When time permits, I'll stop in to visit your blogs.  Thanks for hanging out with me the past couple of years.

  1. Well, God bless you, Beej.

We are coming up on 12 years since we moved into our current house, after having spent 17 years in our previous house. The previous house had been great for four kids, and workable for five, but six, and then seven, were just straining its limits (although our neighbors were quick to tell us that one of the previous families that had lived there, had raised nine children there, so maybe our expectations were a bit more, um, high-falutin than theirs had been. . .)

Hope you have no trouble selling (the current market is not a happy one for selling houses), and that all the packing/moving/resettling issues go as peacefully as possible for you. . .

And do stop by and say hello from time to time; as it is, some days it can seem like you're the only reader I've got. . .

    ;)

  3. OMG...I'm both sad and happy to hear this news.

Sad, because I'll miss you so much in blogland. You're sweetheart.

But, happy and excited for you, your hubby, and your family.

I'm sending ya lots of 'good vibes' for a quick sell and a smooth move.

    The best you, my friend!

    X

  4. I want good things for you, and while I can't promise my wishes carry much weight, that is what I'm wishing for you. I'll also hope for peace with the decision to move and for things to settle down.

  7. Hi Bijoux,

First, Congrats for the new life that will be in the works!
I totally understand. Except the children part, the rest of my life is also at a point of change.

I lost my FIL in 2010, and since have been with his family home to manage. We want out with that; it is too much. We will be most likely selling the family home in the future.

It is somewhat scary, but also exciting. Hang in there and stop by now and then to let us know how you are doing.

  9. OK, now you're scaring me ..... there have been more than a few commonalities (married same year, special needs daughter, etc) and now I find out you purchased your house the same year we did ours? Seriously, are you stalking me or am I stalking you??

BTW- I don't care how appropriate it might be, I'm not ready to move ... yet. Guess we lose that commonality unless things change.

Good luck with that all, buying selling and moving can be daunting and that's BEFORE you have to break it to the kids.

  14. Oh my.....I do hope the transition time works well for everyone. It's great when they grow up. (I keep saying that only because it's true!)

And thank you for sharing that wondrous piece of art at Ron's. I love that bit of the planet. Truly glorious works unfold at just about every turn on the road. I can't get very far without the next "WOW" coming out of my mouth. You captured that "WOW" well.
