Good Stuff - 2011

Is anyone else obsessed with Greek yogurt?  I snubbed it for a long time, considering that even on sale, it's ridiculous to pay $1 or more for one container of yogurt.  Now I'm hooked.  It's like eating crustless cheesecake with a fruit topping.  And they are not lying about the protein.  It keeps me feeling full for at least 4 hours.  Good stuff!

I.Love.This.Show!  First, I think that Lisa Ling is total class.  And real.  But this show strikes a chord with me.  Where else are you going to see the inside workings of polygamy, twins separated at birth, veterans' post traumatic stress, faith healers,  amateur porn and extreme parenting??  I love how she approaches every person without judgment.

Less than 100 calories for a margarita?  This is probably the product of the century, in my book.

Speaking of books, I think I mentioned in my blog earlier this year how much I adored Jeanette Walls' The Glass Castle.  The fact that it was her true life story blew me away.  Can you imagine attending a prestigious college and having to admit that your parents are homeless, by choice??  I had to read her other book, Half Broke Horses.  It's the story of her grandmother, who grew up in early 20th century Arizona.  What a fascinating woman.  She overcame so many hardships and managed to survive on her instincts and entrepreneurial spirit.  Her old fashioned derogatory terms for those she disliked are priceless.  A true role model for every girl in America today.  It should be required reading for anyone who feels sorry for himself/herself......meaning the majority of teens.

Wishing a Happy New Year and Good Stuff in 2012 for all my blogger friends!

  1. That Greek yogurt is amazing! We use the plain in place of sour cream. . .

  2. "Is anyone else obsessed with Greek yogurt?"

Yes! Yes! Yes! I ADORE Greek yogurt! In fact, I've eaten the brand you share here and loved it. I like Greek yogurt more so than other yogurt because it's less sweet, so I can add some raisins, nuts, or honey. And Greek yogurt is full of good bacteria for your intestines.

    So yes...I love Greek yogurt!

Both these books you share sound awesome! I'll look for them in Barnes & Noble.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, my friend!

Looking forward to blogging with you in 2012!

    Cheers and X!

  7. I got hooked a few years ago when I went to Greece. Haven't bought any in a bit, though, so I'm not adding it to my grocery list.

Barb - Thanks for being a new blogger friend this year.

Agent - As food goes, it's probably not that bad to be hooked on (except for the price).

  9. I loved Half Broke Horses! Still have yet to get my hands on a copy of the other book, but I would love to read it!

I, too, am ALL OVER greek yogurt. There's a great honey-flavored type that my kids are rapturous over at the moment. Throw in some fresh raspberries and... DELISH!
