Just A Quick Snark

First, this photo cracks me up!!!!

Second, just had to come back for a quickie..........

I earn money online by participating in a forum for a major food manufacturer.  It was quite the process to be chosen, so I kind of thought they were selective.  Turns out, I was wrong!  Either that, or the majority of American is just illiterate.

I haven't paid much attention to the other participators, but will occasionally read their ideas and comments.  I'm not a perfect speller, so I understand those sorts of mistakes.  What I don't get is when an adult has no clue on what a word actually is:

Survey Question:  What sorts of snacks do you keep in your car?
Answer:  gram crackers and sweetish fish

Have a good weekend, everyone!

  1. Beej! You came back!

I love the photo. And, you know, you don't want your fish to be TOO sweet. . .

I'm one of those anal-types who gets driven to distraction by the (otherwise seemingly somewhat intelligent) folks who can't seem to figure out 'there/their/they're' or 'to/too/two'. Or write things like 'use to' or 'suppose to'. So maybe I'm just that big of a, you know, anus. . .

  2. What are "sweetish" fish supposed to be referring to?? I have no idea.

My pet peeve is "peak" vs "pique".

(And Craig... I was going to say "Anuses of the world unite," but then I was afraid of you judging me if I used the incorrect pluralized version of anus.)

  3. First, so HAPPY to see that you had posted today, even if it's just a quickie, because you've been so missed!

    Second, OMG...that's HILARIOUS!!!

And I have to say, that I too am not the best of spellers, but this one takes the cake!

I think they need spell check.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend, dear friend! Hope all is going well with the house selling/buying.

  4. Well... those little fishies are sort of sweetish. ;)

    Funny pic!

I try to check spelling. Punctuation, yikes! It always messes me up.

    Enjoy the weekend.

  5. Now, now. The crackers weigh a gram and the fish are sweet, but not quite as sweet as the Swedish variety. :-)

  6. Shouldn't a quickie be, um, a little more discrete?? ;-)

    Great to hear from you.

And just for the record, one of my odd amusements is to use odd-speak in my posts just to see if craig will say something about it .... 'cause I know how my friend is.

    I just love misteaks!

  7. Craig - While we're on the subject, have you noticed how everyone is now dropping the LY from all adverbs? That's been driving me to distraction the last two years.

Me - Swedish Fish. I just don't understand how someone who actually buys them and eats them doesn't know what they are called??

Ron - I don't think spell check works when you use actual words, but misrepresent their meaning!

Chick - Glad you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

Agent - That is a good explanation - I think I'll take an ounce of juice with those crackers!

X - It's either amusing or annoying, depending on your mood at the moment. My husband has chuckled during this season's 'Survivor' because one of the younger girls on the show kept using the phrase 'touche' wrong almost every episode. She had not idea what it meant, but apparently, just loved saying it! GAH!

  10. Yeah, those gram crackers would be pretty small, wouldn't they?

  11. Oooooh, welcome back, bonny lass, you've been missed muchly!

That photo is a doozie - heeeee.

Maybe it's just as well I don't keep snacks in the car, if this is the kind of munchies I can access (wink).
