Looks like we are in for at least four inches of rain from now till Thursday, along with damaging winds. The worst news is that cold air could collide with this storm and turn it into snow.........Sandy sucks AND blows! Just sayin.
Let's bask in what was and enjoy the beautiful colors of the neighborhood from last week.........I'm thrilled to have a great neighborhood to walk.....lots of hills and some gorgeous landscaping. Enjoy!

I like the plastic pumpkins in front of the natural beauty.
Aren't these mums a gorgeous shade of red? With the evergreen background, it reminded me of Christmas.
I've always found these 'gateways' to a backyard to be very inviting.
Just a look up the street to show off the lovely stroll along the sidewalk.
Lots of color!
This little valley reminded me of our old backyard. Do not miss the raking and leaf blowing, however!
Ok, probably not pretty to most, but our next door neighbor has a bunch of cacti along their house and I think it's really cool. And the deer don't enjoy it!
Delightful fall colors. If I were ever to move to a southern climate, I would seriously miss that fall colors. . .
ReplyDeleteAs re Sandy, they're talking about 20-foot waves on Lake Huron this evening. I'm almost tempted to wander over that way, just to get a look!
Uh, from a safe distance, of course. . . (probably a helluva undertow with waves like that. . .)
yes, it was pretty indeed, we shall see what sandy brings our way as well.

ReplyDeleteI know, that's what I'm hearing here too. The temperature is dropping fast here, so it seems like we could get snow!
Beautiful photos, my friend! LOVE the vibrant colors you captured!
Stay safe and warm!
(((((( You ))))))
X
Hang in there, it's hitting nicely here now, oh boy oh boy.. ugh.
ReplyDeletegetting pretty windy here now with steady rain. Guess it's only gonna get worse
ReplyDeleteCraig - The colors were fantastic. Wish it would have been more than a week of Indian Summer.
ReplyDeleteLime - The rain gets old after 36 hours already!
Ron - If you are still with power, I'm going to take that as a good sign! YOU be safe too, my dear friend.
Sailor - I figured you were getting the brunt of it. BE SAFE my friend.
X - Just about now, I could go for a winery tour your way.......
Good that you were able to catch the fall color before the rains hit.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are evening muttering about snow here!
What a beautiful place you live in, the fall colors can't be beat,, now think of the contrast in color if you do get a snowfall, the before and after pictures would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteAgent - it's still 46 degrees here, so no snow. Rain hasn't let up since Saturday night though.
ReplyDeleteJimmy - a big no thank you to snow!
yeah, now that you mention it we coulda used some of that to calm the nerves. being just over a year after Irene/Lee folks here were plenty spooked. turned out to be not so bad, winery hopping mighta been fun instead of storm bracing.
ReplyDeleteYou've moved to a very pretty neighbourhood, for sure. And just in time to see all those spectacular colours.
ReplyDeleteHi Bijoux,
ReplyDeleteAwwh, this is so nice! I am loving the warmth of these colors and the pretty details in people's gardens.
Autumn makes me the most nostalgic for the home country, esp towards Thanksgiving.
Thank you for sharing this beauty.
X - I always keep a supply on hand!
ReplyDeleteNick - It was a pretty fall. I'm hoping the spring will be just as lovely.
Barb - You are welcome! I could see where it would be hard to be elsewhere at Thanksgiving.
Absolutely beautiful! We don't get the dramatic changing of the leaves here in Southern California so I enjoy seeing pictures of it on other people's blogs. I do miss the falls we enjoyed when we lived in Montana (except for the raking of leaves :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Corgi - leaf raking is the bummer of fall, no doubt.
