Good Stuff - 2012 Edition

A shout out to good finds this past year . . .

A true story of a Jewish man who anonymously gave away money at Christmas during the Great Depression to those who sent a letter about their hardships to a post office box.  The letters written to him will break your heart, but it's a story that embodies the true meaning of the holiday.
How annoying are cracked heels during the winter?  I hated using lotion that only absorbed into  my socks the minute after application.  These beeswax sticks (Surgeon's Skin Secret) have cured the problem.  They are not greasy at all.  My only complaint is that the lemon one smells like furniture polish.

I'm probably late to the game with discovering Apps, but this is my favorite time waster:  StumbleUpon.  You can choose subjects that interest you, and then dive into page after page of discovery.  I'm hooked!

A product that makes indulging in what amounts to Bridge Mix seem healthy!  Thank you, Archer Farms!!!!

  5. Craig - It was amazing that the grandson found the letters in a suitcase and that no one in the family appeared to know about his secret until after his death. I also enjoyed it because I recognized a lot of the landmarks in the story.

Kat - The chocolate nuts & fruit are like candy, I'm telling you!

  10. Ron - the key word is that it "sounds" healthy!

Agent - by 8 pm, I'm usually too tired to do anything of value, so that's when I turn to time wasters.

Jimmy - let me know if you do.

Betty - sometimes I get cracks around the edges of my fingernails and have used the sticks for that with fairly good results.

  14. Hi Bij,
Very neat idea to share your picks of 2012.
What a beautiful read. I am all for meaningful reads like this.

I think that my best stuff of 2012 was my discovery of Hayhouse radio(radio for your soul).
    http://www.hayhouseradio.com/

I learn so much from their shows.

    Have a wonderful day.
