Low Expectations

I stole this title and photo from another website, but it gave me a good laugh yesterday, so I had to share it.  I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart or Sam's Club.  I truly don't think their prices are all that great, but my real beef with them is their appalling customer service (actually, can you call it customer service when there isn't any at all?) and their dirty, unappealing stores.

I guess they feel the same way about their customers!

  1. "Hey, Walmart shoppers, here's a great idea for a New Year's Resolution - bathe!"

    I see your point. . .

Up here in Michigan, we've got Meijer's, which are just nicer, friendlier places than Walmarts. We actually do quite a bit of our grocery shopping at Sam's (for reasons that might be obvious), but the exit-frisking just drives me to distraction. Talk about a low opinion of your customers!

    1. The exit frisking AND the ID check at the entrance are both annoying at Sams Club. I had a one year membership years ago, but after paying the fee, I didn't think it was a deal. I can get better prices by usin coupons and buying stuff on sale elsewhere. And our Walmarts here sometimes do exit checks. I don't get it.....if you have a cart with bags, don't they expect the cashier to make sure you've paid for everything?

  2. HA! Love both the title and the photo!

And I have to agree with you, however, it's be ages since I've been in a Walmart because we don't have any close to where I live in Philly. I end up having to shop (when I need household goods) at a K Mart. OY...it's the worst K Mart I've ever shopped in. Filthy, totally disorganized and the customer service is non-existent.

    1. I have a love/hate relationship with K Mart. If I go there for something simple like a 40 watt lightbulb, they are out. But if I go there for something bizarre, like a full size fitted sheet in hot pink, shazam! They have it! And yes, I bought that for a Xmas gift for middle child. But I agree, the stores are dirty. Most have closed in the last decade around here.

  3. Haha!
I agree about Walmart. I have shopped there occasionally (horror of horrors) and the ladies at the checkout were nice, but overall I think the company is lousy and make going there a last resort.

    1. It's definitely a last resort for me. We've mostly stopped at them after flying somewhere on vacation to buy a disposable cooler and bottled water. There seem to be more Walmarts out west than around here.

  4. So, this is the year I resolve to shower and brush my teeth? Yikes.

I don't like WalMart because they drive local businesses into bankruptcy and they treat their employees terribly. They are a dirty company all the way around. - maybe the resolution items are metaphorical for themselves.

  5. Unfortunately, more customers choose cheaper quality and prices over good service and quality goods. Fortunately, our area has a local grocery chain that treats their employees right and there is very little turnover. And they are closed EVERY holiday, plus early the night before, so that their employees can spend time with family. I love that! The funny part is, I know people who won't shop there because they think the prices are higher, so they go to Giant Eagle instead. I've gone and compared and discovered that my store is actually cheaper on name brands! But there is just no convincing people of this.

  6. Haha! That is too funny. You really do see all sorts at Walmart. ;)

    1. I guess that's why they write books on that very topic!

  7. LOL; wonder who was responsible for that ad campaign. I have to say our budget made us check out WalMart. For some things they are cheaper so we go there for those things and then to another store for their bargains. Its an act in patience though sometimes to get through their checkout lines. I think they hire the slowest checkers.......
