| As I was washing dishes last month, I looked out the window and saw this guy resting in the woods. I went out onto the deck with my camera. |
| He stood up, but then posed for me, just like this. He stayed very still for quite a while, then wandered off. I thanked him by tossing two pumpkins back there on November 1st. |
Great capture! I know a lot of people view deer as a nuisance, but I love them. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThey actually are a huge nuisance here. I've gotten over not being able to have most flowers and shrubs, but they are a danger to drivers. I know two people who were hit by deer (truly, the deer just jump right into your car, you do not hit them!) last week. Fall is the worst.
DeleteBut they are majestic animals when they are still! Enjoy your turkey day, Mark!
DeleteI love the flowers! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle! I thought they were some of the most beautiful bouquets ever.
DeleteGreat photo, beautiful flowers! Happy Thanksgiving, Bijoux!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rob. Enjoy your time off as well.
DeleteI honestly thought that was a fake deer! Nice picture. The flowers are gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteRemember when I promised you a buck picture?
DeleteWow. . . that's a pretty nice view out your window. Several years back, I worked in an office on a wooded edge of town, and a few times a year, the deer would walk right past our windows while we were working. . .
ReplyDeleteA deer nearly ran into my car on my way into work last week. I think the line between beautiful and nuisance is determined by whether they eat the crops you're hoping to sell, or trashing your car, or not. . .
DeleteSounds as though you are familiar with the deer hit and runs! I've been hit twice, but was very lucky that they did no damage to my mini van. That tank had a great rear bumper!
DeleteFaaaaaaaabulous photographs of the deer! Brava! I love that second shot of him standing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers too! The colors you captured in both the flowers and apples are amazing!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY to you and your family, my friend!

Thanks, Ron. I thought it was amazing how the colors of the apples and flowers matched up so well. Enjoy your holiday!
DeleteThat would be cool to see a deer like that from your kitchen window :) Such pretty corsages too; beautiful assortment of flowers :)
ReplyDeleteI too hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving for you and your family :)
betty
Thanks, Betty! Hope you have a peaceful holiday.
Deletedo you live in a cabin up in the mountains??
ReplyDeleteNope, it's a suburban development with woods in between houses. It's actually rare for me to not see multiple deer back there everyday.
DeleteOooo. He is beauty! Great catch with the camera!
ReplyDeleteAnd those bouquets and fruit look GORGEOUS sitting together. The colors are fantastic!
Hope you and your family have a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Kat!
DeleteWhat beautiful flowers...and we get deer behind our house sometimes, too. We're in a suburban area near The Opry--so it's not a rural thing, for sure. It's SO hard to get a great shot like that, though! Good job!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that I don't associate deer with rural areas either. They are our suburban backyard pets.
DeleteHappy thanksgiving, Bijoux!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a gorgeous deer....
Thank you, Nick!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous creature! And the flowers and apples together are very cheerful colors.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving ot you and yours!
Thanks, Agent. Hope you are having a good weekend.
DeleteGorgeous up close photos of that deer! Amazing! And Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shae!
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Where was that big fella when I was out in the woods looking for he?
ReplyDeleteHe's enjoying the expensive landscaping of the suburbs!
