At Least It Was Sunny

I was surviving winter up until the last few weeks. Now we keep getting pounded with snow every few days. The Weather Channel doesn't help when it keeps using terms like, 'winter wallop,' and telling me that 'Snowstorm Linus' is going to hit. At least name them something scary! Anyway, welcome to last Thursday:

  1. Wow, Bijoux, I feel guilty about all my winter belly-aching. New York hasn't been getting anywhere near the winter wallop that you've been getting (knock wood!) Stay strong--spring is on the way!

    And btw...Linus?!?

  2. Lovely photos, Bijoux. Looks a little bit like our yard just at the moment. We were cruising along with a pretty light winter, until last Monday, when we got 10-12. Melted some over the weekend, but we're supposed to get a few more inches this Wednesday. . . I'm just hoping to get through a winter without getting rear-ended for the first time in three years. . .

    1. People have no common sense when driving in the snow. I try to not go anywhere unless absolutely necessary.

  3. We got all that last year. It sucks.

  4. WOW! That is A LOT of snow!!!!!!!!! And I know you're going to hate me for saying this but I'm jealous because we've gotten barely ANY snow this winter. They keep saying we're getting hit, but then nothing happens.

GREAT photographs! LOVE the one of the Cottonball dogwood tree!

Stay warm, my friend and please send some snow PA's way :)

  5. It is pretty, I just know it can be old when it keeps on coming storm after storm.

    1. It gets old very fast and becomes depressing when 30 degrees feels warm.

  6. We don't get snow here in Las Vegas. Well, we do but it's like an inch every few years and people go absolutely nuts when it happens. The temperature has been so crazy here this past week. We are in the upper 70's.

    1. My college son has a friend from Texas who had never seen snow before and she was going nuts their freshman year. I think she's over it now!

  7. Virtually no snow in Belfast this winter, just a bit in the rural areas and on the mountain-tops. Not much frost either. I'm glad we don't have to dig our way out of the massive snowfalls you get in the States.

    1. But Germany, Austria and Switzerland get a lot of snow, right?

  8. Oh, my. We've gotten a lot less snow than usual here. It just seems so randomly distributed these days.

  9. We've had a relatively slow one until the last week but even the 13 or so inches in February have only brung us up to about 42 for the season, well below the pace for the 85 or so in a normal year. Thanks for taking up the slack, I needed an off year!

    1. Lol....you are welcome, but I just saw that Boston is the one really getting slammed. We are only 6 inches above normal for the year.

    2. True that, we have friends near Boston who've spent the last 3 weeks finding new places to shove snow. And it just keeps coming ....

  10. Snowstorm LINUS? Seriously? All I can think of is Charlie Brown with that name! I'm in Nashville...it has only snowed once here and it was basically melted by 10 a.m. My husband went skiing last weekend, though, so he saw plenty of snow. The funny thing was, the temperature got up to 60 degrees on Sunday--people were skiing in shorts.

  11. Nice photos, but, yuck.. too much snow. We've been spared, luckily! I thought it would be snowier here this year, atleast from some articles I read and predictions. We actually had weather people apologizing for hyping things wayyy up recently and then getting next to nothing. It's cold today! 10 this morning with wind chill at like -8. I do like a cold winter though and am fine with that. Spring is coming!

    1. It was actually -1 this morning, and that wasn't wind chill! Yeah, from the Weather Channel, they are making it out like the whole east coast has gotten slammed.

  12. Like Ron, I'm jealous too. I love snow! Not this weird, sunny record-breaking string of 60+ weather in February. I feel cheated this year!

  13. Yep. I'm good and done with winter. Right about this time every year I start to get really grumpy.
    Come on spring!!!

It does make for some pretty pictures, though. ;)
