On an Island In the Sun

It's been on my husband's bucket list forever . . . Hawaii. I was less interested, due to the 11 hours in flight. But we did it and what a trip to paradise it was. We made a pact that we would spend our time trying new things. I will tell you about those over my next few travel log posts. But for now, some pictures of where we stayed on Maui.

Polo Beach

Wailea Beach Path. A paved 1.5 mile path along the resorts of Wailea. I enjoyed walking it morning, noon and night.

Overlooking one of the three pools.

  1. Could there be a better place for a refreshing beverage?

  2. It does look enticing, I must say. But the long flight would put me off too - and from London it's over 17 hours! My three trips to Australia were bad enough.

I look forward to the next instalment!

    1. Six hours seems a shame not to go! Then again, nice weather is the norm for you.

  5. Oh those pictures are beautiful. My husband went to Hawaii when he was 16 with his family and he's been wanting to go back ever since.

  8. First, your pictures are absolutely GORGEOUS!

    *applause*

They look like they came out of a professional travel magazine for Hawaii. Stunning!

Second, I bet you had the time of your life because I know how much you love the tropics and warm weather. Many of these pics remind me of Florida (Miami) sans the mountains.

I am so looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your trip. Welcome back, my friend!

P.S. "due to the 11 hours in flight. " I know exactly how you felt because when I flew to Japan, it took over 25 hours!

    1. Thanks, Ron. I did cheat and steal the last one because my photo of the infinity pool had a bunch of people and did not look so inviting!

It was soooo nice to wear sandals and just be outside without doing my usual winter cringe!

    1. Oh Mark, we debated long and hard about doing that. Finally decided against it due to the long drive and the simple fact that we are tired of freezing our asses off! You will be proud of our other adventures though.

  12. Looks awesome, but somehow I missed my invite? We nearly went Hawaii for our honeymoon but Queenie was a bit flight-shy so we opted instead for Florida ... maybe someday!

    Looking forward to more ...

Hawaii is on my hubby's and my bucket lists too. I hope you don't mind if I bookmark these posts so that I can reference them if we ever get to plan a trip. :)
