Earlier this year, my friend Ron over at Being Ron, blogged about Bitmoji. At first, I thought it was one of those sites where you upload a photo of yourself. I have not had success in the past with those sorts of site (ex: "What Celebrity Do I Look Like??") because they always compare me to a 20-something Asian male. After the initial WTF? I am flattered by the age; the sex part, not so much!
I'm happy to report that Bitmoji is nothing like that. You actually create your character yourself by choosing hair, skin color, body type, clothing, etc. It reminded me of another site from a few years ago, where it created a Peanuts character based on information you provided. Mine turned out to look a little too much like Marcie for my taste, but what can you do?
I was interested in trying Bitmoji because I was so impressed with how much Ron's character looked like him, so once I broke down and finally bought a smartphone this summer, it was time to test some new apps! And now I'm terrorizing my family and friends with my cartoon character self . . .

Funny you should post this. My coworkers just got me into Bitmoji, too! Actually, they had to create one for me as I just wasn't interested. But like you, I have to admit, it's pretty fun. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI didn't really think it would be as funny to me as it is. I actually really do LOL every time I find an appropriate one to go with my text! Now I want to see yours!
Deletelmao you sure are having lots of fun with it. At least with the newspaper you have something in a pinch. Should TP ever run out. Or you don't want to use your tp made of money.
ReplyDeleteWell, I feel as though I'm flushing $ down the toilet by subscribing to the paper, but I can't talk my husband into canceling it.
DeleteAw man, you stole my comment!
Delete;)
(I know, my standard little winky-smiley-face is hopelessly passe on a post like this. . .)
It's 2017. Time to up your game!
DeleteYeah, I've been ready to ditch our paper for years now but the rest of the family insist on at least having weekend service. Which, um, they seldom read unless bargain hunting. Yet they also get the same ads online during the week so .....
DeleteI'm married to someone who reads the sports section twice on Sunday. I've never opened that section once in my life.
DeleteMy stepdaughter and I did Bitmoji texts for a couple of week, but I got bored quickly and had to stop! I also rarely use emojis, except for hearts. I tend to stick with what now seem quaintly old-fashioned - emoticons. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou know Ron is going to DIE when he sees this post! In fact, I picture Ron and me getting on your nerves if the three of us ever got together. 😂😜😁❣
DeleteThat was waaay to fun. If I ever get a smart phone (probably never ) I'll have t check out the Apps too.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't do much on my smartphone besides this app and google maps while driving, I just use my iPad at home.
Delete" because they always compare me to a 20-something Asian male. After the initial WTF? I am flattered by the age; the sex part, not so much!"
ReplyDeleteBwhahahahahaha! OMG...that CRACKED ME UP!
Don't ya LOVE playing around with Bitmoji? After someone at work told me about it, I became addicted. Even now, because they update the scenes every week, I keep checking for new ones to send to my friends.
The ones you made are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS! OMG...they are so cute! The one of you on the loo is HILARIOUS! And of course, as you know, the middle finger gesture is my all time favorite hand move - ha!
You're right, it blows me away by how much Bitmoji looks like YOU!
AWESOME post, my friend! Keep on enjoying Bitmoji!
X
P.S. and you're right.....I DIED when I saw this post!!!!!!
I know! I love that they update it all the time and that they have a search feature so I can type in words like "toilet" LOL!
DeleteThanks for introducing me to a great app! I was soooo excited for you to see this post!
I remember when he posted this one, I don't have a cell phone so it's up to Cindy to give it a try lol
ReplyDeleteCindy would probably get a kick out of it!
DeleteBitmoji is something I haven't heard of, but it sounds (and looks) cute. Love all of your Bitmojis created. Was wondering if you were officially (as in baby born) grandparents yet. Hopefully it will be so very soon!!
ReplyDeletebetty
Not yet! I was really early with all of mine. She's mad she's not following in my foot steps on that!
DeleteI have heard of it, but now I am going to have to find the time to experiment! Fun post, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHope you are able to make a good Bitmoji of yourself and share it with us!
DeleteHahaha!!! That's awesome. I may have to try it just to annoy my son. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter enjoys my humor, but my other two just think I'm WACK. And I have no idea why WACK always does auto capitalization on my iPad!
DeleteI've only heard the name, but didn't know what it was... no smartphone. Your cartoons are really cute! I am glad you're having fun with it.
ReplyDeleteWe can blame Ron on this little obsession!
DeleteThanks a bunch, Queenie has all the time in the world to search emojis and nails me frequently with 'em but I can't keep up. But she ain't discovered this yet so let's just keep it betwixt us for now, eh?
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! You could always beat her to it and create one of yourself and start using it. See if she realizes it's supposed to be you!
DeleteAlready primed and ready to amaze!! ;-)
DeleteI'd appreciate it if you use it on your blogger soon!
DeleteOnly if you tell me what your cut is !! ;-)
DeleteI like the cartoons and the captions are so true to the pictures. I am not tech savy but I enjoyed the post a lot.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed my humor, Munir!
DeleteIt's clear I've been living under a rock - I'd never heard of Bitmoji before. But it looks cute - I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure how popular it is.
DeleteI doubt your Bitmoji character is more fun than you are. I can identify with the on-the-toilet character. That's how it feels waiting for our dreadful government to be replaced.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do feel as though the govt here wastes our tax dollars, so the TP made of money is appropriate.
DeleteLike that one "Ready for take off"
ReplyDeleteMight take the edge off for those who hate flying.
DeleteYou're much more fun than any Bitmoji character--but having said that, I really loved these images! It's amazing what you can do with an app. Btw, I can't believe what's happening to the Plain Dealer. As a former newspaper reporter, that sad news indeed. But luckily we have Bitmoji!
ReplyDeleteThe PD has been gradually pissing us off for about two years. I think there will not be a true paper edition by 2020. Thankfully, the library system is still going strong.
