2020 Unveiled

A new decade deserves a new look, so here it is. I've also given some thought about what to do this year, after last year's New Things in 2019. Not only did you seem to like it, it just made it easier to blog. I've decided to focus on these 4 themes:

Monday Memories - Totally random memories. Sound weird and intriguing?

Let's Talk Tuesday - Get ready for some rants, with a few raves thrown in.

Photo Friday - Just like it sounds.

Weekend Update - Follow up on previous posts to keep you in the loop!

There won't be any rhyme or reason to how often or the order that I post things, so you might get 5 Photo Fridays in a row with nothing else. Let's see how this goes.

Starting off with a Photo Friday:

This trash can sits outside my doctor's office. Please note, I do not go to a pediatrician. There must be a children's doctor on the same floor, but I have to wonder what sort of parent and how many can there be that allow their children to deface garbage cans in medical buildings? Also, what kids want to give up the sticker they've just earned for getting a shot or a strep stick stuck down throats? No child I ever gave birth to. I guess the maintenance crew has better things to do than peel off Frozen 2 stickers.

  1. Hopefully they might be decorating it? Benefit of the doubt.

  2. Sound like some fun ones to give a go. There is a lot to rant about, just ask the cat lol hmmm maybe the kiddos didn't even do it. Maybe the staff did. Or a Dr. or a janitor. Never know.

  3. Okay, first, I love your new blog theme. Bravo! And two, I really like the 4 topic themes you came up with because they are a nice variety--a little bit of everything! Looking forward to reading your blog this year!

And perhaps the stickers are something the pediatric doctors on that same floor encourage, because it gives the whole "going to the doctor" less scary for a kid?

I have to say though, when I first looked at that photo, I thought it was some sort of heating or air conditioning unit.

Have a faaaaaabulous weekend, my friend!

    1. Thanks, Ron. I like this theme because it uses the whole page, instead of squishing the posts to one side due to a large sidebar. I really gave thought to what theme I wanted and decided to just use all the ideas so as to not put myself in a box.

It does look a bit like an AC unit!

  4. Love your new theme for the blog and the new look. Love also that you have a subscribe button on it too! Was always hit and miss to see if you had posted something! Wonder too about the trash can. Someone obviously started it and then it continued to be a trend. Makes no sense though!

    1. Thanks, Betty. I've always used the Reading List on Blogspot for blogs I follow. That way, I don't miss any posts. I agree, one kid put a sticker on the can and then it was a free for all!

  5. Oh, I love your new look. And I like your new posting plan.

Yes, I also wonder why people feel the need to deface public property by covering it with stickers, graffiti etc. If someone put stickers all over their own property, they wouldn't like that one bit.

I look forward to your random memories and rants!

    1. Thank you, Nick. That trash can is just odd all around.

    1. I'm not sure how regularly I will post, but at least the themes give me ideas.

  7. I like the themes that you have lined up, particularly Let's Talk Tuesday. The stickers look rather 'trashy.'

  8. Love the new blog look! The text is much easier to read. I also really like the idea of themes. I've thought about doing the same (and even had ideas for Monday memories and Photo Fridays just like you - great minds think alike, apparently!). I'm especially intrigued to read your rants!

    1. Thanks. I like blogs like yours where it's a wide layout. That's funny that you were thinking along the same lines with themes! Do it! And the rants are the most fun to write!

  9. I wonder if it was a kid who did that. I love the new look and look forward to all the new things you'll post. Changing things up and having no rhyme or reason seems to help me blog. lol

    1. Well, I hope it was a kid and not an adult! I don't like rules when it comes to a 'hobby' so the no rhyme or reason works for me.

  10. That's a good, varied set of topics. And I like the more spread-out layout. I need to re-think mine when I have time.

  11. Bijoux, I love the new look and I think this year's themes are brilliant! Can't wait to see what you come up with. The garbage can has got me completely twisted. Who wants to have any contact with a trash can--especially in a doctor's office?

    1. Thanks, Rob. The can is in the hallway, so not technically in the office. The building is only a few years old, so it's surprising it got that way so quickly. I'll have to check at my next appt if it's worse.

  12. OMGOSH!!!! I LOVE YOUR NEW LOOK!!! Aaannnd. I love your weekly line-up!!! SO very cool!!! - You are on point with that trash can. I would be that parent who wouldn't allow my kid to deface the trash can because I would be that germaphobe parent who wouldn't let their kid go near that nasty ass trash can to begin with. Sooo gross.

    1. Lol, YES! When I took my kids to the doctor, we didn't hang around the trash cans after! So bizarre.

  13. I had to giggle at your new schedule. When I came back to blogger earlier this year, I said "no schedules and reasoning, just random posts!". Here I am a few months later with a calendar, pencil, and meticulously scheduled postings. I have a feeling you may do the same. :)

Call me crazy, but I love that garbage can (never thought I'd say that, ever)! If I was a doctor, I would tell all the kiddies to decorate my boring office supplies with fun stickers. I would also strategically hand out stickers that I would enjoy looking at every day. Olaf for the win!

    1. P.S. The new look is great! The charcoal background with thick, white font is nice and gentle on my eyes. :)

    2. I'm glad you like the new look! I'm still surprised abut the trash can. It's definitely for the medical building and not for a specific Doctor. It's near the elevator. Weird!
