You and I have the same taste when it comes to eating. That bowl looks absolutely deeeeelicious! And it's funny you posted that because I just recently got into creating various bowls. Tasty and healthy!
ReplyDelete"29. Conversely, throwing away something I don't need." --- me too! I'm kinda of OCD about having any kind of clutter/unnecessary things around.
"30. Skechers, the most comfortable shoes in the universe:" --- yup! I have two pairs of Skechers (in black). I got them both at Target; on sale! Being that you and I like to walk, it's important to have comfortable footwear.
And is there anything more fabulous than the smell of redwood? LOVE it!
We also share a passion for avocado. That toasts looks amazing! In fact, I just bought three more avocado's yesterday. And where? --"38. Trader Joe's" of course. LOL!
I give you an A+ for that organized closet. Well done!
Fun post, my friend! And for all the years we've been blogging together, I still discover new things about you.
Happy Birthday, and Happy Travels! X
P.S. I'm going to be doing some traveling too.
The bowls are fun and tasty and a good way to incorporate lots of healthy ingredients. I’ll roast whatever veggies I have to throw in or add a can of beans.
DeleteIsn’t such a good feeling to get rid of stuff? You should see me trying to empty my mom’s basement. It’s been crazy. I bring home as much as my SUV can fit each time I go. Then I spend an hour or two dividing it up into garbage/charity/keep piles. Most goes to charity. The only stuff I’m keeping are photos or family heirlooms. Sometimes my son will take cooking equipment.
I have never found Skechers at Target, but I rarely go there anymore because of Amazon. Usually I get my shoes at #37.
Hope your week is a good one and I look forward to exchanging some travel stories with you! XO
SKECHERS FOREVER!!! My favourite shoes - and there are so many different styles, so we can look cute and comfortable at the same time, what a concept. I love bowls as well, and avocado toast - eeeee, yum. That organized closet is a thing of beauty! What else, what else. Oh, is there anything so great as a good hair day! Enjoy your birthday month, hooray! I hope it contains so many wonderful things every day. Plus, lots of cake. Wait, are you a cake person? Well, I hope it contains a lot of yummy things anyway. Safe and fun travels, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI just love their shoes so much. And the soles seem to last so much longer than other tennis shoes. I try to have avocado everyday, whether it’s on toast in the morning or on a salad at dinner. I do love cake, but have to limit my sugar intake. I’ll be on a trip on my actual birthday, so we will see what dessert is available that night. I’m not opposed to gelato or cheesecake instead! XO
DeleteWe share a Birthday month!! I love bowls and that one is a beauty. They are so tasty and healthy like you said. So is the avocado toast. YUM!! The big guy doesn't care for avocado and I just can't understand it. An organized closet or cabinet is a must for me also. Yours looks great. This was a fun post. Have a great Birthday and fun travels.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. And happy birthday to you! Let's hope for some great, sunny weather this month. I've known a few others who don't care for avocado. Not normal! LOL!
DeleteSo many things on your list are MY Things too! We would have so much fun together. I love a good purge, and then of course a visit to TJ Maxx, H Goods or Marshalls as a reward. 😜😳
ReplyDeleteWishing you the best Birthday ever and safe/fun travels. As for the 'other stuff' I hope all goes smoothly for you and yours. XO
Hahaha.......yes, those stores are such a reward! What's been funny lately is that all I've been coming out of there with has been food! They've had Kind Bars for $2.99 which is such a bargain. My husband and daughter eat those since I rarely make cookies anymore. And yeah, the other stuff all relates to my mom. I'm hoping to have her in an assisted living place by the end of the year, but it's not going to be easy. Thanks for the good wishes! XO
DeleteI agree to just about everything on your list! I used to repurpose jewelry for a while and I enjoyed it a lot! Sketchers Go Walk shoes are my favorite summer shoe! Believe it or not I just rediscovered TJ Maxx and Marshalls a few months ago and I love them! Good luck with whatever you have going on in the next few months!
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen repurposed jewelry where watch faces, etc are used and made into pins. So cool! I’ve been shopping at TJMaxx since college. I’m so glad we now have Marshall’s and Home Goods. And thanks!
DeleteAll good things. I think you need to let us in on how to make your deluxe version of avocado toast. Like you, my favorite worship service of the year is Christmas Eve Candlelight services. In the fall I purchased my first pair of sketchers and have become a fan... And the last good hair day I had was in the early 80s!
ReplyDeleteOh, that particular picture was taken at a restaurant last Fall. It was incredible! Glad you discovered Skechers!
DeleteI love a good smelling candle. Love your list.
ReplyDeleteThe best candle I ever bought was a Thin Mint Cookie one from a discount store and I’ve never seen it again :(
DeleteI think you forgot to put the toast in there under the other yummy stuff. ;) This is a great list. I found myself unable to walk into my walk in closet. It was time for an intervention. That linen closet is dreamy. I haven't heard of most of those shows, or that author. Might need to check those out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your travels and hope your assisted living project for your mom goes well. Will look forward to future posts as they pop up. Grateful that I stumbled onto your blog.
You’re so sweet! Thank you! I’m glad I found you, too and it’s fun to see your comments now on our mutual blogs we follow. Yes, there actually was toast under that mound. It was at a restaurant in Dublin . . . Ohio! Lol!
DeleteI had to go back and read the first list of 25 things, Bijoux! I share a number of this new listing in that repurposing is always good, donating or tossing out what can't be used is great. My latest project has been reorganizing the kitchen cabinets and pantry. There isn't a lot of extra storage space in our kitchen. We are candle fans, big time, and always have one going by the kitchen area and later in the evening when watching a favorite show. The ones you mentioned are "new" to me as most of our watching is done streaming on AcornTV or BritBox.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday month to you and hope you do some fun things on your travels, aside from the necessary things you mentioned. Blog posting and reading always takes a back seat to things like that.
Thank you so much. It’s always good to clean out cupboards. Sometimes you forget you have something! I love a good candle. My favorite are food scents, like cinnamon apple pie or chocolate hazelnut. I will report back on the travel adventures. Hope some are in your forecast as well.
DeleteYour bowl looks delicious! I've not had the best luck in finding Skechers tennis shoes that are super comfortable (Brooks seem to work well for me), but my sister loves them and she's on her feet all day at work.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have some great trips and that your not fun stuff isn't anything too terrible.
Aww, that’s a bummer on no luck with the Skechers. Shoes that fit are often hard for me to find, plus I feel as though I have big feet (size 10) and they run out of those quickly. Have a great rest of your Spring, Danielle.
DeleteI feel your pain when it comes to finding shoes. I'm an 11.5, so it's always hard.
DeleteHave a great birthday!
Oh man, that would be very difficult!
DeleteI also like watching youtube videos on everything!
ReplyDeleteThey can be so informative.
DeleteI love these types of posts for a variety of reasons. I like to see what makes people happy. I also liked how you mentioned searching Reddit and discovering you're not alone. YES. This is also why I enjoy these posts so much. There are so many things we all have in common. I jotted down a few of these ideas for my next list!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful birthday month! This year, you've brought me so much joy.😘
Reddit can be a dumpster fire, but it can also be so incredibly helpful. I’ve found tips on blood sugar management, how to get a better price for Sirius, and travel info, just to name a few. I’m so glad to bring you joy and thank you, my friend. XO
DeleteHappy birthday month, Bijoux. I look forward to it and celebrating as best as I can with you. Treat yourself.
ReplyDeleteI’m going to try! And thank you.
DeleteThere are hardly any redwoods in the UK so I've never known the smell of a redwood forest. Coincidentally, I'm just reading a bit of Steinbeck where he extols redwoods above all other trees. Indeed, finding a new restaurant has plenty of enticing dishes (vegetarian in our case) is a delight. And yes, I so often find when I google some problem or other that loads of other people have had the same problem. Not that that necessarily takes me any closer to a solution!
ReplyDeleteI haven’t read any Steinbeck in about 10 years, since I was going through my classics phase. Such a great author and talent and yes, he appreciated nature.
DeleteIt’s always just nice to empathize with strangers, isn’t it?
That's quite a list. I don't do the bowl thing, but I do throw things together based on what I have on hand. Hubby calls me a refridgerator cook. I open the fridge and start pulling things together. I don't follow recipes. I look at them sometimes for ideas...and then add or subtract stuff as I feel like it. Happy Birthday month to you. Loved the picture of you hugging the tree. I've done that myself.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
I love making bowls just because there’s no recipe. Just throw things together that work. Yeah to a fellow tree hugger!
DeleteI just nodded along to pretty much your entire list. Comfy shoes, yummy bowls, beer, nature, cleanliness... yes those all get my motor revving. Have fun on your travels this summer. I can't wait to see where you go. Maybe our paths will unexpectedly cross. I'll be on the go too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Theresa! Keep in touch! XO
DeleteWe have a lot of the same favorite things! I can definitely relate to #36, but there's a fine line between lots of great choices and TOO MANY great choices. I hate when I am torn between two dishes and end up wishing I'd ordered the other one!
ReplyDeleteUsually when I’m at a restaurant, there are only one or two items I’d ever order, so when there’s a bunch, it’s a pleasant surprise!
DeleteEnjoy what you can while out goofing off and not blogging. I know I am!
ReplyDelete[This is Ally, btw. I can't get my comments to go through with my name.]
DeleteThanks, Ally Bean! XO
DeleteI'm a May birthday person myself, Bijoux! And I love your choices. The Christmas Eve service with candles really resonated with me. Going to new restaurants and finding freebies sound pretty good, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and much love! I wish you nothing but the best!
Thanks, Rob. I hope your birthday is beautiful! Go Taurus!
DeleteAgree to your list. And have a happy month!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteMaple trees in the Fall! I couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Bijoux, and thanks for stopping by.
Blue
Thank you, Blue.
DeleteNumber 49 I'll definitely have to remember! Yes on repurposing as well as throwing out. (Although we Goodwill drop off most things.) Making your own bowl. That sounds terrific. Must get to those giant redwoods! What a fun list! And a great concept in general. ~Betsy
ReplyDeleteThanks, Betsy. Have a terrific summer!
DeleteWhenever it was or will be... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
ReplyDeleteI love a good Favorite Things post! Tree hugger, so cool! I went to Cali one time and saw the giant redwoods in Muir Woods. Beautiful. Your food looks yummy. I like avocados too. And, one of my gifts for Mother's Day was a Yankee candle called 'Art in the Park' and it smells really nice.
Enjoy your travels!!
~Mary
Aren’t the redwoods amazing? We were north of Muir at Armstrong Redwoods Nature Reserve in that photo. That sounds like an interesting candle! Thank you for the birthday wishes!
DeleteI am one hundred percent with you on numbers 37, 39, and 41 ... among a few others. I love shopping at TJM, Home Goods, and Marshalls, although I usually find that after I've visited TJM, there's no money left for the other two, hahaha! I hope you had a good Mother's Day and that you're well and happy! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love the trifecta of stores, too! I’m doing well and at home getting stuff done in between trips!
Delete100% aware that I am waaaaaayyyyy late to the party here, but don't want to be a deadbeat about reading your blog! (Well, not a total deadbeat. I have definitely blog deadbeat tendencies, but just know that you are not alone in my shameful neglect.) I can jive with a lot, if not all, of these. The good hair day one cracked me up. Those are so very few and far between for me. And happy belated birthday! As I recall from when I saw you, this means a nice round number. I recently met Sensei's wife (now you know for certain who this commenter is, in case you didn't already.) and she threw her arms up in the air and proclaimed, "I'm 60!" I found that so intriguing. JUST met her. We weren't remotely on the subject of age or birthdays, and I know for a fact her birthday was the previous month (May 13, actually, you?) I wonder why she would just announce that to me. I'm guessing it's because she's proud of how good she looks for her age? What's your take on that?
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy! Thanks for commenting in the archives. Bahahaha! Kidding! Apparently, Sensei’s wife was born the same week as me. I’d venture to say that she might have mentioned her age just because it was recently a milestone birthday and it’s probably been on her mind a lot. But I would also say it’s because she thinks she looks good for her age. Did she? I feel as though most of us entering any new decade think our generation looks better at this age than our parents and especially our grandparents. A lot of it might be the way we dress though!
DeleteI said the obligatory, "You look terrific." And she did. Fresh on her mind a month later? I suppose that's possible. I was just amazed. That's something I, personally, would've kept quite about, sort of like how I've been 39 for four years now. ;) You're probably right about looking better than parents and grandparents. Great observation. I wonder what accounts for that? Hair dye and eye cream? :P (I'm definitely not knocking it!)
DeleteIf she's in good shape, she's probably fairly proud of that fact. So many people my age are overweight and/or wouldn't be able to walk up a hill without huffing and puffing. Yeah, I think hair dye and eye cream is helping. Plus, the internet keeps us young because we can look up slang on Urban Dictionary. LOL
DeleteHaha on that last part!!! Yes, she's in good shape. She wakes up early to work out and runs. (It's like she WANTS me to hate her. Kidding!!!!) :P
DeleteWelp, good for her!
DeleteYes, I should hope to be her (and you!) when/if I grow up. :)
DeleteHeading to see Counting Crows/Dashboard Confessional tonight, so YES!
DeleteOh!!!! That's the answer to the age-old question of what bands you'll be seeing soon! I'd forgotten. Go you!!! What fun!
