I am not a Fall enthusiast like the rest of the world seems to be. It has signified death for me, with loved ones and with nature. In the last two weeks, my husband and I have had two disappointments in our lives, caused by decisions others made beyond our control. We’re still reeling from the second one. My spouse compared it to the feeling that someone has died. That sums up October for me. I’m a real ray of sunshine today, aren’t I?
Despite feeling down, I've tried to get out and enjoy the colors of October, which never disappoint. Here are some photos from my walking adventures:

The orange trees are my favorite.

I don't see many painted pumpkins, but I like how the stem was also painted.

The berries on the trees are always so pretty.

I took this photo at a park in Medina County last week. Trees were at their peak.

This neighbor's pumpkin has a ghost that plays peek-a-boo, but it has been stuck in that position for over a week.

I took this picture at dusk, right when their decorative lights came on.

I had only ever been to one NFL football game (1988). I told my spouse that I'd never attend another unless it was in a suite. We finally got an invite.

I'm married to someone who likes to get to places early, so here's the Browns stadium when we arrived. I really don't need to ever go again, but at least they won, which is highly unusual.

Laughing about seeing the Browns stadium so empty. The times we've gone it's been jammed with people and we were running late. And they lost. Your autumn photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe stadium did fill up when it was game time. We had a long walk to our car after and the number of wackos . . . It’s just not my thing!
DeleteYour photographs are GORGEOUS! Because I live in a city, the trees don't change color as quickly as in the burbs because it's not as cool/cold. So, for the past few weeks, I've been taking the train to some of my favorite "outside the city towns" and have been able to capture the fall colors. I plan on posting them soon.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that photo of the house with the decorative lights! Beautiful colors and beautiful house!
"A gorgeous front door that I thought Ron would appreciate." -- Yes, I SURE do! And thanks for thinking of me. X
Awesome shot of the stadium! And congrats to the Browns!
And what a picture perfect way to end this post --- that sunset is beyond STUNNING!
Dear friend, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers; sending you LOTS of love and positive energy at this time.
(((((((((((((( X YOU X ))))))))))))))
I can’t wait to see your train trip photo adventures. I KNOW they will be gorgeous pictures and I’m going to guess I’ll see at least one door!🤓 Wasn’t that sunset beautiful? I didn’t word my post well, but because of the woods behind us, there is no sky viewable to see the sunset in the west. Fortunately, I can see the sunrise out my front window. Thank you for the prayers and good energy. I truly appreciate you, Ron❤️
DeleteI'm sorry October has been a hard month for you and your spouse. You found a lot of beauty around you though because these are all great fall photo's. I hope November is a better month. Did you really get charged by a deer? They scare me.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope November is happier here. As my husband said, we just need to get over it. Easier said than done. Yes, a buck charged me during the fall mating season a few years ago. It was at dusk in my neighborhood. I think I was saved by a dog who started barking wildly. It made the deer turn to look and I quickly headed the other way, walking backward. I’ve also had them stamp their feet at me when I’m on my deck! Very alarming. They are not as docile as people think.
DeleteDeer are very dangerous. I've heard a few people here have been attacked. They can't get in our backyard because of the 6 foot fence but they do come in our front yard and as close as our porch. It makes me very nervous. I'm glad your were able to get away. Big hugs and enjoy the weekend.
DeleteI’m glad you have the fence! We have security cameras and saw one this summer climb the steps of our front porch and eat the geraniums at night. You can’t win!
DeleteBeautiful pictures. I'm sorry to hear October was not good for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary. I appreciate it.
DeleteI'm sorry to learn that you have a difficult situation happening there. It sounds challenging. I hope the hurt fades sooner than anticipated. These are some great photos. I'm not a huge fan of fall, since I prefer summer - having my kids home, time at the beach, and no work. The colorful leaves are pretty, but it means colder weather heading our way. Boo.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind thoughts, Ernie. I’m with you on the summer fun and what dead leaves lead to. Boo is right!
DeleteSuch beautiful fall pictures! I've never been to an NFL game and probably never will! I'm sorry for whatever it is that disappointed you and your husband the past two weeks. It's so hard to deal with things that are beyond our control! Especially if it involves your kids or close family!
ReplyDeleteYou’re not missing much at an NFL game! Thank you, yes, the greater disappointment involves one of our kids. Only time will help me at this point.

ReplyDeleteThe zinnias! Thank you, dear friend—I loved seeing them in this post! 😘❤️
Your neighborhood looks beautiful! The colors there are so similar to ours, and this fall has been absolutely stunning. It really feels like it made up for the hot summer. We’ve spent so much more time outside, and I’ve had the windows open constantly.
I’m so sorry to hear about the disappointments you’ve had this month. If you ever want to talk about it (even just vaguely), I’m always here or over on Instagram. Sometimes it helps to vent to a virtual friend. Sending love to you and your husband as you both navigate the month ahead. 😘❤️
It’s been two weeks since I brought those zinnias inside and there are still a few left! They really brighten up my kitchen. It’s looking like another good weather week starting tomorrow, so it will be nice to spend time outdoors while we can. Thanks for your support and I will reach out to you.❤️
DeleteOh, I am so sorry that you've experienced some hardships these past few weeks! I hope things do start looking up for you and your husband soon ♥
ReplyDeleteAutumn colors are my favorite. I love the reds and oranges. I also love walking the neighborhood and taking in the smell of burning wood from people lighting their fireplaces or even the scent of burning leaves (as long as it's far away because the smoke makes it hard for me to breathe if anyone on our street does it).
I'd probably only want to go to a game if we had a suite too. I took my mom to George Straight at Solider Field in August and the seats are so close together you can't help but brush up on your seat neighbor over and over again. I hate touching strangers, so I am always so uncomfortable in sport stands.
The trees were so pretty this year. Now we’re dealing with the dead leaves, but at least the temps have been great. I love not having to wear a winter coat and I hope it holds out till January! Stadium seating is awful!
DeleteI'm glad you got outside to hopefully lift your spirits (October pun!) That house where the lights had just turned on looks like something from a magazine. Beautiful. The spider house---ugh. I could never. Blech. Heebie-jeebies. It seems you're like me where you want the experience of something and one and done is good enough. I would feel the same way about the football game. And I love this: "but at least they won, which is highly unusual." Haha! As a native, though living afar now, I get that! :P ~B.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a fan of fake spiders, either. One and done is often the case for me when it involves sports. My poor husband! He loves sports and I’m the spoilsport! 🤣 The Browns are always so bad, yet their fans are rabid in the Dawg Pound! Good grief!
DeleteMy hubby can't even talk football around me anymore. When we were first married, I'd even watch with him. Now he watches with headphones on. I tried for a while! I did! Now, at 21 years, forget it!
DeleteI find it the most boring sport ever. Golf is more interesting to me.
DeleteWow. Even GOLF is more interesting. Dang, girl. You're a rare find.
DeleteThe courses are usually in beautiful locations!
DeleteOkay. You got me there. :)
DeleteI'm laughing at your Early Arrival to the game. I too won't attend any sports games without a suite and Vino. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've been disappointed by people lately; hoping things look up for you both. The trees: yellow, orange, red ALL gorgeous!! I'm gonna skip the spiders too, but did you notice the painted white pumpkin with the stem? It looks like a Teletubbie. :)
Omg, it does look like a Teletubbie! 🤣 You and I could sit in the suite and talk about a real sport, like Bravo!
DeleteSome wonderful colours there. I'm not keen on autumn either, with the increasing darkness and cooler temperatures. I didn't know why spiders are associated with halloween. Apparently it's because they helped witches to cast spells.
ReplyDeleteIt’s dark here by 5 pm, which I dislike. Fortunately, we’ve had a lot of warm weather for October/November. Spiders are scary, so maybe that’s why?
DeleteBeautiful photos from eyes of sorrow. Thank you for sharing them with us. - That empty stadium... I think I would've went to the "bathroom" and sent a text from the road! Lol. A suite sounds much better. You're warm, you don't have some weirdo squished beside you and there's wine! - I hope the rest of the year is better for you. Hugs from Idaho.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I wouldn’t abandon my husband, but sheesh, was it boring! Staying warm and drinking wine is the way to go. Although I just had a White Claw. I felt weird opening the wine, since we were guests, not hosts. Thanks for the love!
DeleteSorry to read that October has been a difficult month for you in some ways, Bijoux, and hopefully November and December will be better in terms of some joyful times. I find that getting outdoors and appreciating the colors around can sometimes lift my mood and perhaps your walk did the same for you. I enjoyed seeing the fall colors in your area. Thanks for your comment on my recent fall walk, none of which were AI generated. I absolutely refuse to use any of those images in your posts...just a thing with me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, my friend. Getting outside always helps my mood. I did know that your photos were your own, but they were quite perfect looking. I sometimes use a photo from the internet if it’s relevant and I don’t have one of my own, but that’s usually just for the title.
DeleteSorry to hear about the disappointments. I hope things improve for you and the family. I used to hate fall because that meant the end of summer but I have learned to appreciate it a lot more especially since Kyle and Hayden enjoy it. They also do fall sports so that helps as well. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad your kids have helped you appreciate the season. Thanks for your support.
DeleteFirst of all, I'm so sorry it's been such a rough month for you. That sounds really hard, Bijoux. But also those photos are gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous! I love me a colourful tree!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicole. My husband says we just need to get over it, but I’m really struggling. Time will heal. The colors were gorgeous this year. Welcome back! XO
DeleteI hope the disappointments you're dealing with get better, or at least more manageable.
ReplyDeleteI don't love Fall, either. I like the color, and I like the flavors, but I hate Winter so much that Fall feels tainted knowing that Winter is right behind it.
Thanks, Danielle. Family stuff is difficult, isn’t it? I’m with you on what Fall spells in terms of weather. Ugh.
DeleteSuch beautiful photos, Bijoux! Like you, I am not a big fan of fall, and I am so sorry to hear about your recent disappoints.
ReplyDeleteHope things are working out better for your and your husband. I am so glad that you got and enjoy the colors. And thanks for these fabulous images.
I don't go to football games either and, like you, I'd only go if there was a suite waiting for me. Glad your team won!
Take care
Thanks for your support, Rob. It was nice to be outdoors with the warmer temps. We are easily spoiled with the suites, aren’t we? At this age, I think we deserve it!
DeleteOMG wow, what you are speaking of does not sound good. Sorry you are dealing with this. I hope your November is going better. On a more positive note, I just LOVE your photos, what a great neighborhood to live in.

Thanks so much, Allie! We do love living here, even though the suburbs aren't always convenient to everything.
