Photo Friday: It Was My Birthday Month!

I was excited to learn that some of my blogger friends also celebrate their birthday month. Here's a peek at how I enjoyed mine:

I save my favorite wine for special occasions. On May 1st, I opened my 2015 Rombauer Chardonnay.

We took Middle Child to a benefit concert to see Steven Curtis Chapman. It was really good! He's a great storyteller, singer, and guitar player.

I walked when I was able to dodge the rain. I love when people plant bulbs in large groupings like these irises.

As a follow-up to last month's post, here's the handmade card from Middle Child for Mother's Day this year.

On a beautiful Friday evening, my husband and I sat outside at a winery and had dinner. All of their wines are song names. This one is 'Nights In White Satin.'

I celebrated my birthday 'in space!'

And had a lovely evening in Versailles, Ohio.

Attended my granddaughters' dance recital.

My oldest daughter takes her children to the national cemetery every Memorial Day to place flags on my father, my in-laws, and my son-in-law's grandparents' graves. I find this incredibly touching. I hope my Dad sees them and feels our love.

After a number of mediocre books, I landed on this one during my birthday week! Mid 80's department store employees. This book could not have been more personally relatable.

May mornings, I have this view of our pink dogwood from our bedroom window. It brings me joy!

To conclude my birthday month, I had lunch with some friends. We thought it was so funny that these birthday balloons were behind me, though not for me. I received some very thoughtful gifts, like a bamboo cutting board, locally produced honey, herbal teas, and dark chocolate.
