Last May, I wrote about some of my favorite things, here. I came up with some more good stuff for you. Consider this a lite Thanksgiving post.1. Swiffer dust cloths. They are amazing, not only on hardwood floors, but I use them to walk around the house and dust. I know they probably make Swiffer mitts for your hands, but I'm too cheap for that. I just found a Target brand of the dust cloths at a better price. I hope they work as well as the original. Oh, and I think the commercial, with the song "Baby Come Back" and the sad mop hanging around is funny. I'm the only one at my house who chuckles, but then again, I'm the only one who does the mopping around here.
2. Cartridge World. No more buying the pricey HP cartridges for our printers. Cartridge World will refill your empties at less than half the price of buying a new one. As an added bonus, the recycling is great for the environment.
3. Thomas' Blueberry Bagels. Thick, chewy, fake blueberry goodness. Toast and smear them with whipped cream cheese and serve with a cup of hot coffee. Not exactly low calorie, so I limit this addiction to the weekend as a treat.
4. Grocers and other Retailers who sell Postage Stamps. In this lackluster service world that we live in, I appreciate stores that will sell me stamps at cost. This saves me a trip to my local post office and waiting in lines (see previous post about my disdain for our town's post office). Thank you, grocery store employee, for taking my place in line. Especially at Christmas.
5. Puffs Plus Tissues. My family would not make it through a winter without these. Or should I say, we'd all be looking like Rudolph without these soft, lotion-covered tissues. I've tried other brands, but nothing compares to these. Just be sure to not clean your glasses with them.
Tell me about your favorite things!
i like the super concentrated laundry detergent so i don't have to buy a giant bottle of the stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree on speciality tissues. I use Kleenex brand tissues made w/lotion. Totally saves my nose.
ReplyDeleteI love cranberry sauce. I'm so glad it's Thanksgiving.
I also love Barnes and Noble. Just because.
Lime - Is it at a better price? I agree, those big bottles are ridiculous to have more than two on hand at a time. No place to store them.
ReplyDeleteMama - I will tell you I like the Puffs brand a lot better. And I love Barnes & Noble. Better lay out than Borders. The one thing I don't like is their $25/yr. charge for membership. Borders is free.
I like fabric softener sheets. The laundry is not clean if I don't have those.
ReplyDeleteYou have won an award Cocette. Come on over to receive.
From the cleaning world, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally committed to those Swiffer dust clothes. Forever.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite thing is my iPod charger dock with speakers. My iPod gets a better charge than with my power chord, the speakers rock, and I had a gift card to buy it with, so even better!
My favorite thing? My Blackberry Curve with hot pink cover...cuz I can blog anywhere. Can you say addiction? Course, right now I'm in the Dever airport with free WiFi, which rocks too!
ReplyDeleteTrooper - my laundry is full of static if I don't use those.
ReplyDeleteRuss - I wrote about my love for those magical erasers in my first favorite things post. Just don't use them on dark paint.
FADKOG - I'm dragging my heels about the whole Ipod/mp3 thing. Do I really want to invest in another gadget?
Laggin - my husband's Blackberry is black, but we call it his crackberry for good reason.
Did you say your Barnes & Noble has a membership charge? Really? So you can't shop there unless you pay a yearly fee?
ReplyDeleteFTN - no, I mean the member thing where you get coupons via e-mail and other special promotions. I think it's a rip off for B&N to charge $25/year for that, esp. when it's free with every other retailer I can think of.
ReplyDeleteit's usually a comparable price when you work it out per load.
ReplyDeleteHeh...here's where I, if I was at work right now, would point out the differences the BN membership allows over the Borders one, but eh, managers aren't here, so I can just skip it!
ReplyDelete:)
FADKOG - but is it worth $25?
ReplyDeleteNeat posting idea, C!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to give a Swiffer a go, can you believe that? The mop doesn't sing "Baby Come Back" to me cuz he never left. LOL!
... will have to give more thought to some of my household-ish fave things...
LB - every good french maid owns a swiffer - LOL!
